Can I help clean up the Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico??
Absolutely. I am new to this as well, but feel the need to spread the word on how to help. My plan is to organize my local Barber Shops / Salons / Dog Groomers, etc.... for people to contribute their hair trimmings.
On the off chance you missed it, Nearly 1,000 grooming salons in Petco stores began shipping donations of pet fur Friday to aid in creating booms to soak up oil from the Gulf of Mexico.
Surprisingly hair extracts the oil from the water in an eco-friendly manner ( as opposed to burning it )
Matter of Trust is a non-profit that is involved in the the cleanup. They collect hair (donations,) in donated warehouses to store and create the booms used to soak up the oil. They leave the cleanup to the professionals, but provide a valuable Eco-Friendly tool to manage oil spills
So please organize your local community, animals and humans alike, to donate their clippings to Matter of Trust and help us Clean up the Gulf of Mexico, because if you were not aware of it, I Love The Gulf and you can Google that term to find me.
You do not have to be a Warmer to take action in this ecological disaster. I thank you in advance
